After studying abroad in Paris, Chef Jonathan Baltazar returned to the University of California at Berkeley and knew that his life to come would revolve around food.
Chef Jonathan graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu school in Pasadena and then trained at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, renowned for being the birthplace of California cuisine and the organic revolution. He then moved back to Los Angeles, where he continued to develop his own style of California/Mediterranean cuisine at such well regarded restaurants, such as Lucques and Campanile.
Presently, Chef Jonathan works as a private chef to the celebrities and other entertainment people in Los Angeles. Vice President Al Gore, Tipper Gore, Woody Harrelson, Alanis Morissette, Alicia Silverstone, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Katy Perry, and Kanye West have all been delighted by his food.
Jonathan can also be found in the kitchen of his friend David Thorne's supper club, ElysianLA in Atwater Village. He also helped with the opening of his friends' restaurant, Cook's County on Beverly Boulevard. You might have also seen him on Bravo's Top Chef.
